We are on a mission to walk gently on the Earth in love and respect for one another with our daughters on their Maiden Voyage.
We believe that all Life is Sacred, and we are dedicated to contributing in small collaborative ways to build a life filled with love, beauty and wisdom.
We are creating community committed to offering authentic, heart-opening, soul-enriching opportunities for the benefit of all.
We are planting seeds of the emerging future. We envision a world of intergenerational, multi-dimensional & culturally sensitive people that honor dynamic life-affirming ways of being.
Because of our children, in 2012 we began stumbling around as a small community inside an urban forest tended by one of our founding families. We planted seeds with a shared belief in the importance of fostering relationships that honor our personal and family values. Along the way, we have experienced the complexities of self-expression and social identity within the web of a global narrative.
Sisterhood has always been our guiding compass. There have been several iterations of our learning community over the years as we have navigated our children's development as well as our own. This work with the Maiden's began on a weekend camping trip in 2017 with our founder, Shela and 4 of our girls and continues to unfold through our lived experience with our daughters in community. We hope you will join us on the next leg of the journey through the Maiden Mysteries.
We respectfully acknowledge that we are on the present-day home of the Osage Nation and the ancestral lands of the Osage, Cherokee and Muscogee people. The process of knowing and acknowledging the land we stand on is a way of honoring and expressing our respect and gratitude to the tribes that have occupied this land as well as all Native people who call this land home.
We are in intimate relationship with this land beneath our feet and the ancestors who walked here before us, who walk with us now and who will walk here long after we are gone. We are dedicated to lifelong learning in reciprocal relationship with this land and her first people. We are committed to giving time and energy in support of local Indigenous ways for the benefit of all.

Shela's beautifully imperfect family of 6 (3 humans, 2 dogs + 1 moody Black Feline) are in their third Spring on this land. During her first visit to this place, Shela sat under the enveloping arms of the old Mother Oak tree. An intuitive sense of deep belonging moved through her core. And she knew that her family must move here to listen and tend to this Land. Seed Sisters have been meeting under this tree ever since.
